Phone Tree Cheat Sheet
After my recent Dell disaster, I have found it even more important to speak to a real person. Although, after speaking to so many people in India, I almost took that back. DON'T buy Dell. DO check out this site with all the ways to bypass the phone trees.

LaCie - Brick Desktop Hard Drive
I have to preface this. I have had a bad customer experience with lacie when I purchased a hard drive direct from them, but these are pretty sic for external hard drives, and they're stackable of course. It will cost about $36,000 to build a sweet terabyte robot. (lacubrioustempo ltd. reserves the right to fudge numbers in order to avoid doing math)
"Available desktop models are: 160GB (white), 250GB (red), 300GB (blue) and 500GB (red)."

I was just talking to some of you about this last weekend. Cnet loves it and I think I do as well. As well as you can love a russian mail order bride before she lands on your doorstep to bake you chocolate chip cookies. The tomtom 700 has a bluetooth speakerphone. Sweeeeet!

Dream Arcades
So you get the pizza place arcade table you always wanted and you can get rid of that dinner table taking up room in the house the other 28 days of the month when you're eating in front of the TV anyway. You get either a shell with monitor where you add you're own gaming system or PC, or you get one with the PC in it. The prices aren't even that bad.

Here's Google Local for the mobile phone. I uses some sort of google maps on your phone to find local businesses and getting directions. I have yet to try it, but I've been using google sms for awhile now for local business search and word definition and it's pretty sweet.

Wired News: "Nurses union Executive Director Rose Ann DeMoro called the decision 'an enormous victory' because Schwarzenegger 'is going to stop going after registered nurses and patient ratios.'

The governor's action came two days after California voters rejected all of his proposed government-overhaul initiatives and on the same day he took 'full responsibility' for the election debacle.

The 1-to-5 staffing ratio was not among the issues decided at the ballot box Tuesday but has been a long-sought goal of the 60,000-member California Nurses Association. Schwarzenegger sided with the hospital industry in opposing the 1-to-5 ratio, citing the added financial burden and the nation's nursing shortage.

Tensions between the governor and the nurses union escalated in December 2004, when he labeled the union a special interest and said he was 'kicking their butts.'"

Sony's mess
For those of you that hadn't heard yet. The new Albums(CD's) that Sony's been putting out have spyware that installs on your PC and at this point isn't even detectable by antivirus/spy programs. Fuck them, I'm downloading a Bette Midler song today.

Now you can watch porn while riding a motorcyle. I'm feeling overstimulated just thinking about it. Well, maybe it just tells you your speed, gear, and radar detector alarms. I guess I'll settle for that.

This is wierd, but cool. When you turn on the faucet, the water glows blue. They should make a temperature sensitive one that changes to red when the water's hot, but for $15 what more can you ask for?

mTune - Cordless Stereo Headset for iPod Shuffle
I'm trying to decide if I like this. Peamouthchub, you can chill right out. We all know you only like things that go in your mouth. These headphone hold your Shuffle right in the ear piece. It would be great for someone who travelled alot, or maybe for riding (snowboarding, hmmmm) I think if bose made some version with their quiet tech it would almost be a shoe in. There's also one for the Nano, but you wouldn't be able to see the screen, so you'd have to take them off to pick a new song. Cool ideas anyway.

Car Sharing

Zipcar
This is for the city kids. These guys want to let you rent a car (VW's , mini's, etc.) for $8.50 and hour or something like $49 a day. All so you don't have to buy a car. Sounds like it might work in SF, NYC, and the like.
